Last week we had our reps in town for a (top secret) training event; the details of which will be revealed next week. With the big green holiday approaching, Joe Harster, a Sales Engineer from Archway Electrical Sales, shared with me a story about St. Patrick that put him in a new light.

When I was in college at the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri S&T), we had a huge St. Pat’s celebration every year. The university shut down, and there were no classes, on Thursday and Friday of St. Pat’s week. I was told by upper classmen that St. Pat is the patron saint of engineers. The reason being that he designed a cudgel and used it to drive all the snakes out of Ireland.  However, there is more to the story of how this celebration originally came about. This year marks the 109th St. Pat’s celebration at Missouri S&T. The links below provide more information about how the St. Pat’s tradition got its start, along with some photos.
