Happy Humpday everyone! I wanted to update everyone on Bernie. This is the last update that we received on Monday, "Good morning! I am staying my final week at Manor Care here in Davenport. I am on two pretty heavy duty antibiotics that I have to take intravenously into a PICC line that is installed into a main artery in my upper left arm. This is to knock out the infection and swelling in my legs. I am thankful to say the meds appear to be working. The areas where my grafts failed are looking better bit by bit. We are praying that this will continue so that I won’t have to have any more skin grafts. Please continue to pray that God will send me good nurses that will get me my meds on time and will follow all the safety and sanitary protocols they are supposed to follow. There have been a number of failures in this area. I just have to make it through Thursday night when I get my last antibiotic treatment. I should be able to finally go home Friday morning. I have been praying for all of you and for our move to The Promised Building! My therapy has been going well. I think it won’t be too much longer until I can get back to serving in Production. Thank you for all the prayers!” Bernie Thank you all for your continued prayers for Bernie.
As a follow up to last week's HumpDay Blog post- "We’re Moving!", A story comes to mind about all the dust that is getting kicked up. We are kicking it up in two locations right now. You might even say that we are in that Gray Area between two worlds.
On August 7th, 1515 East Kimberly Road in Davenport, Iowa will be the future home of Grace Engineered Products. We have been growing steadily since 1991 and this time around we'll be moving in a big way, increasing production and warehouse capacity in a new 45,000 sq ft. building. As most of you know, we have been talking about this move for a while now and updating you along the way. Right now, our engineering team and the construction crew are onsite working diligently to meet the deadline of August 7. Here are the latest photos of their progress!
They say it's your birthday
It's my birthday too, yeah
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you
It has been blazing hot here for the last week or so. I was outside doing yard work and came into the air conditioning. I get a glass out of the cupboard, go to tap to fill it with cold water and take a big gulp! Now that I don’t feel like I’m melting, I think to myself where did that water come from? Who are the people that are behind that clean water? This has always been a thoughtless act but if I truly think about it I have taken this luxury for granted. Did you know that the average American uses 80 to 100 gallons of water a day! That’s a lot of water!
Happy HumpDay Everyone! So wedding season is upon us, I know quite a few people getting married and some people that have recently gotten engaged. Well, last week I ran across this video that has went viral. While McDonald's may be the least romantic place to propose, Michael, had a reason for proposing there. Michael said "We wound up ending our first date at this exact McDonald's and my girlfriend has always joked about how I would probably propose to her in a chicken nugget box, so I thought she would love it this way." Check out the video to see how the proposal goes!
Happy HumpDay everyone! So selfies (a self-portrait photograph or group photograph featuring the photographer, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone) in case you didn't know, are becoming more and more popular every day, and now someone has created the selfie stick. I personally try to run away when there is a camera in the room and don't think I would ever buy a selfie stick, but someone here at Grace brought one into the office and we were having loads of fun taking photos. Check out life at Grace via the selfie stick...
